• (10/12/98) ViewAskew.com WWWBoards, Kevin Smith: "Ben just recorded voiceover for yet another Dreamworks animated Biblical flick (i.e. not 'Prince of Egypt'). I forget which one he said it was."

(9/30/98) The Hollywood Reporter: Affleck nears `Zero' hour; Ben Affleck, who collected a best original screenplay Oscar in March with Matt Damon for ``Good Will Hunting,'' is in talks to rewrite the thriller ``Suspect Zero'' at Universal. While sources say ``Suspect Zero'' has a role that Affleck might well play, there is no commitment for him to star in the production. Affleck, who continues to be in demand as an actor, has several writing assignments lined up. He has screenplay commitments at Castle Rock Entertainment and Miramax Films.

(9/14/98) The Hollywood Reporter: Ben Affleck is in talks to star as an aggressive yuppie stockbroker in Artisan Entertainment's ``Boiler Room,'' sources said. The project, to be produced by Team Todd, is expected to get a green light relatively soon. Filming could begin in New York as early as mid-November.  The project, which was set up this summer, concerns the high-pressure world of Wall Street ``boiler rooms,'' where young stockbrokers peddle highly dubious stock to unsuspecting buyers. Sources said that negotiations over Affleck's involvement are not focused on the lead role of Seth, a college dropout who descends into the world of corrupt stock trading.  ``Boiler Room'' will mark the feature directorial debut of Ben Younger, a video director who also penned the screenplay. The film would be produced by Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd of Team Todd.

(8/13/98) TVGuide Online: BRUCE AND BEN TRADE BARBS: Armageddon stars Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck constantly poked fun at each other on the set of the summer blockbuster, reports costar Michael Clarke Duncan. "It's like mixed nuts in a can," he told the Scripps Howard News Service. "There was never a dull moment. If it wasn't Ben joking about how old Bruce was, it was Bruce joking about how short-lived Ben's career will be."

(8/4/98) Cybersleaze: BEN AFFLECK'S LESBIAN FLICK CAUSES A BIDDING WAR: A short film directed by GOOD WILL HUNTING Oscar-winner BEN AFFLECK has become the subject of a mad scramble as film distributors fight for the rights to release the film. Affleck wrote and directed the movie, entitled I KILLED MY LESBIAN WIFE, HUNG HER OUT ON A MEAT HOOK AND NOW I HAVE A THREE-PICTURE DEAL AT DISNEY two years ago. The bizarre movie tells the story of a woman-hating film director whose misogyny shatters his life. It is set to receive its cinematic debut at a New York theater soon for one show only, and film distributors are reportedly clamoring for tickets.
